A Closer Look Upstairs

We wanted to share another batch of pictures from the upstairs.  This will probably be the last round of pictures that highlight the building’s undisturbed past before work on the project begins.

We also love the stamped metal ceiling tiles on the ground-floor ceiling.  These will be saved, refurbished, and used for the coffee shop ceiling.

Have you found anything to verify that there was a staircase on the south side of the building accessed from Main Street? Dr. Smith had his office there in the early 40’s .

      Phyllis,
Wasn’t Dr. Smith’s office over old Anthony’s on east side? Mom said I was the last baby born there.

My sister-in-law lives in Chandler and told me about your coffee business. I’ve been fixing up historic buildings in a small Kansas town over the past ten years. If you’re interested, I can share some things that I’ve learned, including historic preservation, vacation rentals, and some great contractors for specific projects, etc.

Hi, Jim! We have a great architectural team we’re working with and they are taking the lead on the construction work. However, please feel free to send us your thoughts – info@manvelavecoffee.com. We’d love to hear from you!
